NEW YORK, March 28, 2018 – Assurant, Inc., a global provider of risk management solutions, today announced that it has joined the American Red Cross Disaster Responder program. As a Disaster Response member, year-round support from Assurant helps ensure the Red Cross can act immediately whenever and wherever disasters occur, help families during the recovery process, and ensure communities become better prepared for the next disaster.

Through the Assurant Foundation, Assurant’s charitable arm, the company has supported the Red Cross with grants and matching gifts since 2001, most recently to help those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, as well as the California wildfires.

Each year, the Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters across the country, including home fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes and wildfires. Red Cross services are provided to people in need of assistance at no cost and regardless of income. In support of that mission, Assurant will join others in supporting the Red Cross’ fourth annual Giving Day with special 2-for-1 matches of employee donations to the Red Cross.
